What we do

We prepare, type, organize, and assist with the filing of legal documents at the client's direction. We provide certified notary services and paralegal support. All decisions about what to file, when to file, and what to include are made by the client.

What we do not do

We do not provide legal advice, recommend specific legal strategies, select forms on your behalf, predict the outcome of a matter, represent you in court, or hold ourselves out as attorneys.

Client responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing every document prepared on your behalf for accuracy and completeness before it is signed, notarized, or filed. You are also responsible for ensuring that the documents you direct us to prepare are appropriate for your matter.

When to consult an attorney

We strongly encourage you to consult a licensed attorney for legal advice, for complex matters, when significant rights or property are at stake, when deadlines are tight, or any time you are uncertain about what to do. Many bar associations and legal aid organizations offer free or low-cost referrals.

Confidentiality

We handle the information you share with us with care and discretion. As noted above, however, information shared with Compass Legal Prep is not protected by attorney-client privilege.
